Who Moved Our Future?

Who moved our future? you may ask.

Well, no one moved anything.

Life moves on and so can we! The sooner we let go of our attachment to the future, the sooner we get here.

This Spring is a huge turning point for anyone who is ready to begin operating at a deeper level of presence. It’s a huge opportunity to leave some things behind with greater ease. This is a time to see how everything is part of a larger story that is way bigger than any of us. And to learn when it’s time to be out in the world and when to keep to ourselves.

For many people, the value of one’s imagination has been demeaned and devalued. Twenty-year-old German student Max Planck decided that he wanted to study physics at the University of Munich. His professor told him that everything in that field had already been discovered and that all that remained for him to do was to fill a few unimportant holes and gaps in the literature.

The professor tried to convince him to take another path. Max was not only a scientist, he was also a dreamer who ignored this expert advice and ended up winning a Nobel Prize in physics in 1918 for formulating quantum theory for our future.

People will try to convince us that they have our answer, but we can make our own choices. Wisdom from Max Planck, one of the top physicists of our time, suggests that “science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are a part of the mystery that we are trying to solve.”

Our Future Requires Grounding

Understanding our enough, and when enough is enough, requires a great deal of unlearning and un-conditioning of stories and beliefs. We may think a new opportunity is on the horizon but by practicing discernment, we uncover that it is an old trap or pathway. And this allows is to stop cycles and patterns that recur. There is no need to wait to be chosen, or seek approval from anyone outside ourselves when we know we are enough.

No more listening to gurus or experts, who don’t invest in knowing us, with their manuals, formulas, secrets and solutions. Knowing is no longer enough as we need people in our lives that practice their craft; not instruct others. Healthy people dream and create with us; there is no separation. It’s called amazing relationships!

When we are automatically sure we have what we need, and we’re unaware that we’re operating on a default setting, then we probably won’t imagine anything that is unknown or mysterious. But when we really want to explore and create possibilities, then we’re aware that there may be another way.

We discover and create a healthy relationship with nature, one that likely will emerge from our imagination, self-compassion, and courage to walk our own path. Just like Spring. Just like our future.

“It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.” ― Rainer Maria Rilke

The future is us thriving.
