[00:00:00] Doug Heikkinen: This is Advisorpedia and we're at Nitrogen's Fearless Investing Summit, and I'm with Alison Susko, who is the Vice President of Community at Asset-Map. Welcome.
[00:00:11] Alison Susko: Thank you. Thank you for having me. Great to meet you.
[00:00:13] Doug Heikkinen: For those who don't know what Asset-Map is, give us a little nutshell. . .
[00:00:17] Alison Susko: Asset-Map's been around for a little over 12 years, between 12 and 15 years in the financial planning category, I'd say. If you were looking to find out exactly where we fell, it would be financial planning, but more on the visual conversational side. So allowing advisors to better connect with their clients in kind of a visual manner to see what everything what everything is and where everything that's important is held in an easier to consume way.
[00:00:41] Doug Heikkinen: And you just made your first integration with Jump.
[00:00:43] Alison Susko: We did.
[00:00:44] Doug Heikkinen: So here comes the AI question. Yeah. How are you evaluating how to use AI?
[00:00:48] Alison Susko: Yeah. We take an approach a lot at Asset-Map to outsource with integration to folks that are doing things in great ways like Jump is with our AI note taking.
We went down that route in order to get the best of the meeting information easily imported into Asset-Map. So if you're talking with a client or prospect and you're recording the meeting, you find out about held away investments or something might be an opportunity for the advisor and the client to talk about.
It'll actually pre-build that Asset-Map report for you.
[00:01:15] Doug Heikkinen: So Nitrogen's 2025 firm growth study showed that 90% of investors want to understand the rationale of what their advisors are telling them, or just understand what their advisors are telling them. How does Asset-Map accomplish that?
[00:01:28] Alison Susko: We accomplish that by taking that approach of making the complex simple.
As an industry, we've gone so deep in the ability to plan and to calculate down to the dollar. And clients really just want to know if they're making good decisions and if they're okay. And that's really what we're after is, you know, kind of improving that, you know, uh, information getting out to the client in a more consumable way.
[00:01:48] Doug Heikkinen: You had an event last year?
[00:01:50] Alison Susko: Yeah.
[00:01:51] Doug Heikkinen: What was it called?
[00:01:51] Alison Susko: An Advice Engagement. So we are not only a financial planning tool at Asset-Map, but we are also considered in the Michael Kitsis category as an advice engagement tool. We did a little bit of a play on words and we got some of the best minds in the industry to come to Philadelphia and to Adam's new space, our CEO, and talk about what the industry's going to look like in five years and how we can all work together to better serve our clients.
[00:02:13] Doug Heikkinen: Any big takeaways from that?
[00:02:14] Alison Susko: Oh my gosh. And of course, AI was a topic, right? So we were talking about a little bit about the combo of AI to speed up what you're doing at your firm, but also using what our CEO Adam likes to call the original AI, "advisor intelligence," and really focusing in on how you can better get to know your clients using the technology that's supporting you.
[00:02:34] Doug Heikkinen: Allison, thank you for spending a little time with us.
[00:02:36] Alison Susko: Thank you. Thank you for having me.
